Fisheries Assessments

Within the proposed harvest area the streams are examined for fisheries resources. This assessment is conducted by a fisheries biologist, they examine the streams and rivers adjacent to and proposed cut blocks and roads for fish habitat, and possible habitat. Then the biologist makes their recommendations and any proposed changes, and they are reinforced by guidelines for setting reserves around streams and water bodies set out by the Clayoquot Sound Science Panel.
