Terrain Assessments

This stage in the assessment is conducted by a geologist. The geologist examines the proposed harvesting area, and the proposed roads which will be constructed.

When examining the harvesting area and road construction the geologist makes the following considerations:

• The soil types present
• The soil drainage
• The terrain stability
• The historic terrain stability of the area
• The down-slope resources (i.e. fish habitat)
• The anticipated usage
