Timber Cruise

At this stage of the assessment phase a professional called a timer cruiser is contacted and sent out to assess the approximate amount of timber within the proposed harvest area. The timber cruise is assessed through the random sampling of areas in the proposed harvest areas and the data collected includes; the predominant species of trees, their height and diameter, and the average quality of the trees.
